Last night we stayed up until late adding plants to the new 55 gallon aquarium.
Today we moved the platies out of the danger zone and away from the angelfish in the 20 gallon aquarium. Two platies found a new home in our 10 gallon aquarium. They had been nipped at and suffered some damage from the angelfish and need to heal without the stress of entering into the not completely cycled 55 gallon aquarium.
We added four platies and six otocinclus to the 55 gallon aquarium.
We put a new section on our blog showing plant profiles with pictures of all our aquarium plants.

whoa, thats some serious planting you two have been up to! looks like it will be good when the plants are established. can't wait to see how it goes. =)
i went to get some decent background plants today to try and fill the black space at the back of the tank. no such luck. but i did come away with lots of "echinodorus tenellus" which i have just finished painstakingly planting about 30 shoots (i bet the loaches have uprooted it all by this time tomorrow lol). but my prize today was one "anubias barteri nana", which i tied onto a small piece of driftwood. it came already with a flower shoot (unopened) so with a bit of luck i'll have a pretty white flower sometime soon.
its getting there, slowly, with the planting.. when i have the time i will do some blogging about my own plants (cut and paste most of my reply to michelle's question =p )
in the meantime, congrats on your new setup, looks like its going to be a good 'un! =D
