We had to choose today, the plants or the Clown Loach. We planned to have this fish in the 20 gal aquarium which has a lot of plants, but in the 10 gal where it was, it started biting the amazon swords. We moved the amazon sword to the other aquarium and replaced it with some Valisnerias Biwaensis and some Valisnerias Natans that are not very strong, so in one bite the loach broke the whole leaf.
We brought the Clown Loach to Pet Depot and swapped it for two Danios Glofish. Here's hoping the Clown Loach finds a new loving home to live out many years, perhaps with somebody who doesn't have as many live plants.
Personally I like the aquariums to be inspired by nature, so I don’t like artificial things, and these fish are transgenic. But we had two more already and after all they are not mutations like those pitiful Parrot Cichlids.
The water in the 10 gal aquarium is cloudy all the time. We changed the filter for a power filter for 20 gallon aquariums and it still is cloudy. No matter if we change the water, ten minutes later it is cloudy. If it was oxygen bubbles they would go up, but these are everywhere. I thought that maybe it was the loach that moved the gravel too violently and rose things from the substrate. That aquarium also has a very thin layer of gravel because we thought to use it first as a hospital aquarium but now we have fish there too.
We're thinking that we will have to get another 20 gallon aquarium and move the fish there and leave the 10 gallon for a hospital tank as originally planned.
